Nordfjordeid

Nordfjordeid is a modern small town in Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. The town is surrounded by greenery and parks, a beach, the salmon river, a golf course and several attractions.

Private investors and Eid municipality is behind the investment in Seawalk. With SeaWalk Nordfjordeid can welcome cruise ships with a 230 meter long dock. When the season is over they can contract the SeaWalk to about one third of the length. The first ships will be able to call inn 2018, and the Port of Nordfjordeid will only take one ship at a time.

The SeaWalk Port of Nordfjordeid opens the opportunity for more cruise ships to visit the famous Nordfjord destination; the Briksdal Glacier. The trip now takes two hours less.

The main attraction in Nordfjordeid is the Sagastad Centre housing  the replica of the Myklebustskipet, which is the largest known vikingship in Norway.  It's 100 feet long, and dates back to about the year 800. The burial mound is a 5 minute walk from the quay, and it was excavated for the first time in 1874.  It reveals more than 1000 years of history.
